Green power is a term for electricity that is generated from renewable energy sources such as solar, wind, geothermal, wave energy, etc. The green power that is currently available to our members is generated from landfill gas at the Coffin Butte Resource Project near Corvallis Oregon Green Power Choice offers members of Clearwater Power Company the opportunity to show support for renewable energy. Members may choose to purchase one or more 100-kWh blocks of green power at the rate of $2 per block. Or members may choose to purchase 100% of their electricity from a green power source for an additional 1 cent per kWh.

There are two options available for members who wish to participate in Green Power Choice.

1. You may purchase 100-kilowatt-hour blocks of green power for just $2 per block. Each block you purchase will add $2 to your monthly electric bill and you may purchase as many blocks as you like.
2. You may designate 100% of your electricity purchased as green power for an additional $0.01 per kilowatt hour.  By choosing this option, one penny will be added to your electric rate for each kilowatt-hour of electricity used on your monthly electric bill.
