Benefits of Co-op Membership (Local, Democratic, Capital Credits)

Welcome to Clearwater Power Company. As a rural electric cooperative, we operate differently from an investor-owned utility. First we are non-profit. Any revenues that we realize over expenses are assigned and paid to our members in the form of capital credits. Second we are a democratic organization. Service policies that affect the cost and quality of service are determined by a Board of Directors elected by the members of the Cooperative. At Clearwater Power, we are owned by those we serve and work to reflect that in everything we do.
