We have received reports of contractors traversing the area and surveying Clearwater Power facilities. You are always welcome to call us at 208-743-1501 to verify if a contractor is working with Clearwater Power, or if a crew identifies Clearwater Power as the reason for its visit.
While Clearwater Power does sometimes use contractors for work such as tree trimming or pole testing, the type of surveying recently described to us is not being done on behalf of Clearwater Power nor have we authorized them to access private property under our easements. We understand that these crews may be gathering information about Clearwater Power poles and other facilities, such as GPS locations and pole heights, as part of their own work.
It is important to note that Clearwater Power's easement to access poles is strictly for electric service only. Any telecommunications company who seeks to connect their infrastructure to power poles must seek their own specific easement for that purpose.
If a crew asks to enter or drive across your private property, you should determine whether you wish to allow that access. Particularly regarding motorized vehicles traveling through dry fields which may present safety and fire concerns.
