130 Years of Collective Service

Dave Hagen, 40 Years of Service

General Manager and CEO Dave Hagen celebrates 40 years of service, proudly working for Clearwater Power and devoting his career to public power. Over the years, in addition to his current role, Dave has worked in engineering, information systems, key accounts, energy resources, safety, and as manager of Clearwater Propane Company, a wholly-owned propane subsidiary of Clearwater Power Company. For the past 19 years, Dave's served as the general manager, leading the cooperative and successfully upholding its mission to provide safe, reliable and affordable power to rural members. Dave has announced his plans to retire this summer.

Read a reflection on Dave's 4 decades of service at Clearwater Power.

As Dave celebrates 40 years of service, three other cooperative employees also hit milestones.

Cynthia Tarola, 35 Years of Service

Director of Accounting Cynthia Tarola celebrates 35 years of service at Clearwater Power. A detail-oriented person who likes working with numbers and problem-solving, she’s spent her career in the accounting department at Clearwater Power.

Cynthia started as an accountant I, then II and eventually worked her way up to the director role in 2001. She says she finds her job fulfilling and challenging. Her department requires a high level of accuracy, integrity, ethics and trust.

“I really enjoyed the work and the family-like culture which made it easy to stay at the cooperative for 35 years,” Cynthia says.

Most of what Cynthia works on all year is summarized in the cooperative’s annual report. She helps make sure members know about the finances at Clearwater Power and that the numbers shared are accurate and audited.

Bob Pierce, 30 Years of Service

Many Clearwater Power members know Bob Pierce from the “Ask Bob” column that appears monthly in Ruralite magazine answering members’ energy- and utility-related questions. This column has been running continuously for the three decades Bob has been at the cooperative, giving him a chance to answer hundreds of member questions over the years on everything from energy conservation to power outages to hydropower.

Four years ago, Bob was promoted to the position of chief operating officer. In this role, he uses his longtime utility background to oversee both the operations and member services departments.

“Both of my departments involve customer service, so I get to help people every day,” Bob says. “Every interaction I have with a member is an opportunity to help them walk away happier than when they first contacted us.”

Clint Reeves, 25 Years of Service

Clint Reeves celebrates 25 years at Clearwater Power. Clint is a field engineer for the cooperative and helps members determine what they need to either set up power or upgrade their service.

Meeting new members is one of his favorite parts of his job.

“I enjoy meeting new people and getting to help members,” he says. “Our members are just great people.”
He also enjoys being out in nature, which he experiences regularly on the job. Clearwater Power’s service area includes some breathtaking landscapes. Clint often takes a moment to capture the
scenery he sees daily. Members can sometimes see his photos on
the cooperative’s social media pages, in bill stuffers and in Ruralite
magazine.
Starting out working in the warehouse, field engineer is the
second position Clint has held.
